You pay once, up front, at the moment you confirm your spot. That single payment covers your share of the team's registration fee with the venue or competition partner, and all the game fees for the expected number of games in the season.
What you pay
Season registration generally runs $150–$300 per player, most commonly $200–$250. It moves with the sport, the venue and how many games are in the competition, so check the individual league listing for exact pricing. The breakdown by sport is in How much does a season cost, and what's included?.
One Game bookings are paid per game at the time you book. The price is shown on each game listing.
What the fee covers
Your share of the team entry with the venue or competition partner
All game fees for the expected number of games shown on the listing
Team management: building the squad, weekly lineups, chasing RSVPs, finding fill-ins and getting your game details to you
What it does not cover
Your uniform. All teams play in a black playing top, except basketball, which plays in the Just Play reversible black-and-white singlet. See What do I wear, and what should I bring to a game?.
Association or governing body registration where the competition partner requires it. PlayHQ is the common one.
Stadium entry at two venues, paid at the door each visit: Footscray and Coburg, $3 per player.
Two things to know before you pay
The number of games on a listing is an estimate. It can move with byes, forfeits and venue availability. If fewer than 75% of the season's games actually go ahead, you get a pro-rata refund for the missing games: see Can I get a refund?.
Season registrations renew automatically for the next season unless you stop them. That is deliberate, it keeps teams together, and you can turn it off at any point. Read Does my season renew automatically, and how do I stop it? before your first season ends.

Changing the card you pay with
Update your payment details under My Teams once you sign in, or in your app profile. Keep it current, because a failed renewal charge can suspend your spot. If something has already gone wrong, see What do I do if a payment fails or I am charged twice?.
