A season typically costs about $150 to $300 per player, most commonly $200 to $250, depending on the sport, venue and number of games. That is for the whole season, not per week. Check the individual league listing for exact pricing.
What the fee covers
Your share of the team's registration fee with the venue or competition partner
All game fees for the expected number of games in the season
Team management: building the squad, weekly lineups, chasing RSVPs, finding fill-ins, sending game details, and a team name you did not get a say in
What it does not cover
Your uniform. All teams play in one black top, except basketball, which uses the Just Play reversible black and white singlet from the shop.
Association or governing body registration, where the competition partner requires it. PlayHQ is the common one.
Stadium entry at two venues, paid at the door on the night: Footscray and Coburg, $3 per player.
You pay once, up front, when you confirm your spot. Competitions long enough to be split into two registration periods are billed in two parts, which keeps the upfront cost down.
