What do I do if a payment fails or I am charged twice?

Update your card first, then tell us. Failed payments aren't retried automatically and your spot is held a week; a duplicate charge is refunded to your card within 7 days.

Update your card first, then tell us. A failed payment can suspend your place in a competition, and the sooner it's fixed the less chance you lose that place to somebody on a waitlist.

If a payment failed

  1. Sign in and open My Teams, or open your profile in the app

  2. Update the card on file, checking the expiry date and the billing details

  3. Pay in the app to complete the charge

Failed payments aren't retried automatically, so you need to update your card and pay it yourself. You have 7 days from a failed payment to finalise your place before it is at risk of going to someone else.

The usual causes are an expired card, a new number after a bank reissue, not enough in the account at the moment of the charge, or a bank security block on a transaction it didn't recognise. If your bank blocked it, approving it in your banking app first normally fixes it on the second attempt.

If you think you've been charged twice

Check the amounts and the dates first, because two lines on a statement aren't always two payments.

  • A pending authorisation from a declined or retried attempt can sit there for a few days before it drops off by itself. That's not money taken.

  • Two different amounts a few days apart are usually two different things, such as a season registration and an association fee.

  • A One Game booking and a season charge are separate, so both appearing close together isn't a duplicate.

If it's genuinely the same amount taken twice, contact us with the date, the amount and the last four digits of the card. We'll refund the duplicate to your card within 7 days and keep your spot.

Come to us before you go to the bank

A chargeback locks the transaction while the bank investigates, which normally takes longer than us simply fixing it, and it can suspend the account in the meantime. Message us first. If we can't resolve it, you keep every right to take it up with your bank.

Still need a hand? Contact us with the date and amount of the charge. Refunds are covered in Can I get a refund? and renewals in Does my season renew automatically, and how do I stop it?.
