Your venue, court and game time come to you by email and in the Just Play app once your team is allocated. Important Team Info appears in the app 14 days before your competition starts, and your team allocation and first game details land 3 to 5 days before your first game.
Where to go
Open the app, go to your schedule and select your game. The venue is on the game itself, along with your lineup and your team chat. The same details go out by email. If you cannot see a game in your schedule in the week the season starts, message us rather than guessing.
Most venues run several courts or pitches at once, so check the court or field number as well as the address. If it is not listed, ask at the front desk when you arrive. Two venues also charge a stadium entry fee at the door on top of your registration: Footscray and Coburg, $3 per player. It is worth having a card on you the first week if you are playing at either.
When to arrive
Arrive 10 minutes before your game time, not on it.
That handful of minutes is the whole difference between a good first night and an awkward one. It is when the team says hello, works out who is playing where, and sorts out who starts and who subs. Turning up as the game kicks off is the single most common reason a first game feels flat, and it is the easiest thing to avoid.
What time will my games actually be?
Game times vary by venue and are set by the competition partner, not by us. The league listing shows the earliest and latest possible times for that competition, which is the best guide before fixtures are released. Evening games are the norm, but we cannot promise your games will all land inside a narrow window such as 7:45pm to 9:15pm.
What if the weather looks bad?
For outdoor competitions, the call is made by the venue or competition partner, usually late in the afternoon on game day. We let you know if a game is called off. If you have not heard from us, assume the game is on and head down. See Weather: what happens if my game is cancelled or washed out?.
