Yes. Signing up on your own is the most common way people join Just Play, and it is the entire reason the business exists. You do not need to bring a team, know anyone at the venue, or find your own spare players. We guarantee to place you in a team.
Most people who message us before signing up say some version of the same thing. 'I have just moved here recently from New Zealand and I would love to try and get into a team.' 'I have recently moved to the area and don't know anyone who plays there.' Those people are the majority of any given side, not the odd one out.
What happens after you sign up solo
You pick a league and pay for your spot. You are buying one place in a team, not a whole team entry.
You fill in a short player survey: social or competitive, your position preferences, and a photo so people can recognise you.
We build a squad around you from other individual sign-ups, using that survey. See How do you build teams? for how that works.
We name the team and email your first game details, then manage the lineup every week from there.
So on night one you are meeting a group of people who mostly signed up alone too. There is no pre-existing clique to break into. Turn up in a black top, get there a few minutes early, and join your team's WhatsApp chat during the week (Schedule → Game details → Join the Team Chat).
If you are nervous about the first night
Arrive a little early. Standing around before the game is much easier than walking in after it has started.
Say your name to two people. That is genuinely enough to be part of it.
Do not worry about how good you are. The league listing shows the expected level. See I'm not fit, or I haven't played in years. Is that a problem?.
