What happens if I get injured, and am I insured?

Get first aid from venue staff first, then tell us. Just Play does not provide injury cover, so check with the venue about theirs.

If you've just been hurt, deal with that first. Tell the venue staff, get first aid or an ambulance if you need one, and see a doctor.

On the night

  1. Tell the venue staff straight away and ask them to record the incident. You may need the report later.

  2. Get treatment. Don't drive yourself if you've taken a knock to the head.

  3. Ask the venue for the incident report reference.

  4. Let us know what happened, so we can follow up with the venue and sort out your team's lineup.

Insurance

Just Play doesn't provide injury expense cover, so we don't pay medical or ambulance costs. Some venues carry their own cover, so ask the venue directly.

If you play in a basketball association competition in Victoria, your Basketball Victoria registration through PlayHQ includes personal accident cover for registered players. You need a current registration to claim, and claims go through the association. See What is PlayHQ registration, and do I have to pay the association fee?

Our Terms & Conditions include an assumption of risk and limit our liability as far as the law allows. They don't remove your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Your season while you're injured

Season fees aren't refundable, but tell us anyway. Mark yourself unavailable for the games you'll miss so your team can find fill-ins; a game you've RSVP'd out of never counts as a no-show. If you have One Game codes, we can extend them up to 12 months while you recover.

Still need a hand? Contact us with the venue, the date and what happened.
