Every Just Play team has its own WhatsApp group. Open the Just Play app, go to Schedule, select one of your games, and tap Join the Team Chat. That takes you straight into your team's group.
Team chat used to live inside the Just Play app. It moved to WhatsApp because most players asked for it, so if you see an older reference to in-app Game Chat, it no longer exists.
What the group is for
Saying hello before your first game.
Sorting out who is bringing what and where you are meeting.
General banter, match-day hype and the post-game debrief.
Organising a burger or a drink after the game.
What it does not do
It does not change your RSVP. Posting "can't make it tonight" in the group still leaves you in the lineup. Update your RSVP in the app instead.
It is not the place to ask us questions. There is a Just Play staff member in every group, but we don't generally monitor them. For the fastest response, message us through the app inbox or email [email protected].
Game cancellations still come by SMS and app push, so don't rely on the group for those.
Who is in it
Your team, plus a Just Play staff member. Your group sits inside the Just Play community for your city, where we also post announcements.
Members can't add other people to the group. If a mate is joining your team, message us and we'll add them.
Muting, leaving and notifications
These are all WhatsApp's own settings, so you can mute the group or turn notifications down from WhatsApp itself. If you leave the team, we'll remove you from the group.
Behaviour in the group
The same standards apply in the group as on court. No harassment, abuse or offensive content. If something is said that shouldn't have been, message us rather than handling it in the thread.
