RSVP Reset

A little info on why we occasionally reset the availability of all players in the team.

We've been managing sports teams for a long time, and we're getting pretty good at being able to predict when player attendance is about to go down. When we think this is about to happen, or is currently happening, we perform what we call an RSVP reset. Basically, this is when we opt every player in the team out of their next game, and then send the team a message asking them to opt back in if they're still keen to play.

This allows us to see who's definitely keen to play on, and who may not be keen any more, meaning we can start looking for new players or fill-ins, and avoid any late notice drop outs or no shows.

The last thing we want is for your team to be short, we know this seriously ruins the fun, so this is something we do in order to ensure the enjoyment of everyone in the team.

Here are the situations in which we may perform an RSVP reset:

  • After 2 or more weeks of no games (this could be due to public holidays, wet weather, byes etc)

  • After we've had to forfeit a game due to being short on players

  • If attendance is going down at any point (but especially late in the season)

  • If we haven't received a game report from the team in 2+ weeks (meaning we have no idea if the team has had enough players)

  • If there were a lot of no shows or late notice drop outs the week before

Hopefully this helps with any questions you've had, but please reach out to our customer support team if you need anything at all.
